About this file
This is a biosolids analysis report for the Dover Township Wastewater Treatment Facility in Pennsylvania covering testing periods from 2024 through 2025. The report documents quarterly sampling and laboratory analysis of aerobically digested biosolids, with samples collected on four occasions during 2024 (February 27, May 3, August 26, and October 17) and four occasions during 2025 (March 19, May 28, August 11, and December 10). The analyses measure standard parameters including pH, solids content, volatile matter, nitrogen composition, phosphorus, potassium, and micronutrients, as well as heavy metals and contaminants including arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, molybdenum, nickel, selenium, zinc, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). All testing was conducted by Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection laboratories, with analyses performed on solid form biosolids samples.
The report demonstrates compliance with Pennsylvania biosolids management standards by comparing measured concentrations against established regulatory limits. Copper consistently represents the highest utilization of allowable limits at 54.0 percent in 2024 and 54.3 percent in 2025, followed by zinc at 32.6 percent and 28.1 percent respectively. All heavy metals and contaminants remain well below their established thresholds, with most parameters utilizing less than 20 percent of regulatory limits. Nutrient content shows total nitrogen ranging from 6.80 to 6.87 percent on a dry weight basis across both years, phosphorus pentoxide from 7.6 to 8.9 percent, and potassium oxide from 0.5 to 0.96 percent, supporting the suitability of these biosolids for beneficial use applications. The consistent quarterly testing protocol and strong compliance record support the accompanying biosolids disposal contract opportunity, which seeks qualified vendors to manage approximately 3,500 wet tons annually over a five-year period with bids due April 9, 2026.
