INQUIRY 0008:

Solicitation 16-102-SOL-0003, Plan Sheet A-103 Keynote 13 calls out for installing new overhead coiling windows, 2 ea. The Specification for these units 08 33 13 Coiling Counter Doors notes in Paragraph 2.3 HOODS

A. General: Form sheet metal hood to entirely enclose coiled curtain and operating mechanism at opening head. Contour to fit end brackets to which hood is attached. Roll and reinforce top and bottom edges for stiffness. Form closed ends for surface-mounted hoods and fascia for any portion of between-jamb mounting that projects beyond wall face. Equip hood with intermediate support brackets as required to prevent sagging.

1. Include automatic drop baffle on fire-rated doors to guard against passage of smoke or flame.

Q: The plan set does not include the coiling counter doors on the Door and Window Schedule, Plan Sheet A-601 to note any special requirements of the doors; nor is there any clear detail in the specifications. Are the two coiling counter doors per Keynote 13 Sheet A-103 to be fire rated? If so, what rating: 20 minute, 45 minute …? If these are to be rated doors then the countertop assembly, per 2009 NFPA 13 must also meet the same rating threshold in construction and require additional design clarification.

2 5

RESPONSE PROVIDED:

The wall where the coiling door units in question are located is not fire-rated. Therefore, automatic drop baffle and fire rating are not required for these units. Comply with all other requirements of the plans and specifications. –Response by Derek L. Archer, PE, Meier Architecture-Engineering.

INQUIRY 0009:

Plan Sheet A102 Phase 0 on the overall floor plan shows a 4-0 wide X 4-0 long X 6-0 high fence with gate around a new compressor pad. Detail 2 on A102 notes concrete pad per Mechanical.

Q-1): Detail 1 corresponds to the overall floor plan showing a 4-0 square enclosure. Detail 2 shows a 6-0 wide gate. Is the chain link enclosure 4-0 foot square or 4-0 x 6-0?

Q-2): The overall floor plans references the concrete pad to the Mechanical. M100 shows the new condensing unit CU-1 and FC-1 and reference M601 for details, but no details on the size of the unit or the exterior housekeeping pad could be found in the Mechanical plans. The specifications only state to install the CU on a cast-in-place concrete pad and there are no concrete specifications for this project.

What is the size and thickness of the CU-1 cast-in-place concrete pad and the performance specification for the concrete mix; 6-Sack 3,500 PSI; 6-Sack 4,000 PSI or ?

RESPONSE PROVIDED:

Fenced enclosure for CU-1 is intended to be approximately 4 feet wide by 4 feet long by 6 feet tall at a minimum. Fence enclosure size shall be coordinated with actual CU-1 equipment provided to ensure that manufacturer's recommended installation clearances are maintained. Basis of design unit is approximately 26 inches long by 12 inches wide and is shown at its approximate size on M100. Clearances in this case are approximately 5 inches on the wall side of the enclosure, 12 inches on the gate side of the enclosure, 2 inches on the east side, and sufficient space on the west side to install refrigerant piping and allow for service. Centering the unit inside the enclosure as shown on M100 provides all of these clearances within a 4 foot square enclosure.

Concrete housekeeping pad size shall be coordinated with size of actual CU-1 equipment provided. Pad size shall be a minimum of 6 inches beyond anchor points of CU-1. The approximate pad size shown on M100 of 27 inches by 34 inches allows for this clearance on the basis of design unit.

Concrete mix shall be 2,500 psi. Thickness shall be minimum of 6 inches. 4 inches above grade, 2 inches below grade. – Response by Derek L. Archer, PE, Meier Architecture- Engineering

INQUIRY 0010:

Solicitation 16-102-SOL-00031, Plan Sheet A 202, General Note 2 states to build all ceiling heights to 9’-0” UNO. Plan Sheet A-601 shows the ceiling height for Room 180A Records/Reception to be 9-0. Typically soffits are constructed to provide a visual break in

3 5 the ceiling plane, however there is no elevation provided on Plan Sheet A-203 for the soffit.

Q) - What is the elevation, AFF of the new soffit planned for room 180A?

RESPONSE PROVIDED:

Existing soffit is 8-0" AFF and existing adjacent ceiling is 8'-6" AFF. New soffit shall be aligned with existing soffit. Field verify actual height and match existing. – Response by Derek L. Archer, PE, Meier Architecture-Engineering.

INQUIRY 0011:

Solicitation 16-102-SOL-00031 Plan Sheet Detail A/A108 Kiosk Elevation shows the basis of design BEST sign panel and components that are detailed in the project specifications.

However, there are no cross sections or details regarding the Kiosk structure.

Q.- What is the construction of the Kiosk, is it to be design-build, is it to be constructed per one of the design wall types, is it to be detailed within the cabinet and casework design with 2x framing and sub-countertop sheathing with plastic laminate to match the new countertops?

RESPONSE PROVIDED:

See the Plan view on Sheet A-108 and Specification section 101400, including submittal requirements.

INQUIRY 0012:

Solicitation 16-102-SOL-00031 Phase 2B, Plan Sheet A-105, Demolition Detail, Room 165 does not have a keynote on the countertop that is shown in a dashed line indicating removal.

Q. – Is the countertop in room 165 on the Demo Detail of sheet A-105 to be demolished per Keynote 3 or Salvaged per Keynote 4?

RESPONSE PROVIDED:

The countertops in Rooms 165 and 166 are to be salvaged as necessary in order to successfully accomplish Keynote 14. Remainder to be demolished.

Add Alternate #1” on Sheet A-105 to be ignored. Those items will all be included in CLIN

INQUIRY 0013:

Solicitation 16-102-SOL-00031, contract document Plan Sheet A106 is Titled Phase 3- Pharmacy/Imaging while the two details on the plan sheet are titled Phase 4 Pharmacy/Imaging. Plant Sheet A107 is Titled Phase 4- Laboratory while the two details on the plan sheet are Titled Phase 5 – Laboratory.

4 5

Q.- Please clarify which Phase is correct on each plan sheet, the sheet title or the detail title?

RESPONSE PROVIDED:

Sheet A-106 is Phase 3, Pharmacy/Imaging.

Sheet A-107 is Phase 4, Laboratory.

The detail title phase numbers are incorrect on each sheet. Sheet A-106 should say Phase 3, and Sheet A-107 should say Phase 4.

END OF THE AMENDMENT. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

The proposal due date IS NOT EXTENDED as a result of this Amendment.
