About this file
This is an Award Memo from the State of Utah Division of Purchasing and General Services announcing the intent to award a contract for wildland fire hazard reduction services. The Wildlife Resources Division issued an Invitation for Bid (IFB) BD27-107 for mastication of Pinyon and Juniper trees on 791 acres near Coal Pink Sand Dunes State Park. The project must be completed by March 15th, 2027, with performance work scheduled between November 1st, 2026 and March 15th, 2027. Participation in the solicitation is limited to prequalified contractors only, and potential bidders were strongly encouraged to inspect the project site, though a mandatory site visit was not held. The memo indicates that this IFB is anticipated to result in a single contract award to the lowest cost responsive and responsible vendor based on criteria stated in the solicitation.
The award notification states that the intended awardee information can be found in accompanying award documentation and on the public site under Supporting Documentation. Awarded vendors must not begin work, purchase materials, or enter into subcontracts until both the recipient and the Division of Purchasing and General Services sign the contract or issue an executed Purchase Order. The vendor must guarantee its pricing through completion of the project. Any protests of the award decision must be submitted in writing to the Procurement Officer within seven days of the notice issuance and must clearly identify the solicitation and detail the nature of the protest. The receipt of an executed Purchase Order or signed contract constitutes the official contract; the award notification itself does not create a binding contract.
