The solicitation was subsequently cancelled.
The scope comprised furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment for six mowing cycles on approximately 258 miles of county roadways, including right-of-way mowing, litter pickup, brush and slope trimming, and vegetation management within designated limits. Each cycle was to be completed within 30 days of Notice to Proceed. Payment was calculated at unit prices per centerline mile upon completion and approval of each cycle by the Project Manager. Liquidated damages of $500 per day applied for failure to meet mowing cycle completion dates and traffic control requirements, with additional penalties for personnel and equipment compliance failures.
All work was to comply with Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges (Current Edition) and the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Bidding documents were available for purchase at $50.00 per nonrefundable set from the Douglas County Purchasing Office, 8700 Hospital Drive, Douglasville, Georgia 30134.
