About this opportunity

Bucks County, Pennsylvania is seeking bids for the 2025 Patterson Farm Asbestos Abatement Project, a specialized environmental remediation contract located in Lower Makefield Township. The base bid requires contractors to provide comprehensive labor, supervision, materials, and equipment for asbestos abatement across the site, with specific exclusions for glazing compound at the Janney House. The project scope is detailed in environmental reports by Remington & Vernick, Criterion, and Gilmore & Associates, with three key supporting documents available: a 2018 Environmental Report, Bid Specifications, and a Final Phase I Environmental Site Assessment. The solicitation was posted on September 12, 2025, with proposals due by September 26, 2025, providing potential bidders approximately two weeks to prepare and submit comprehensive abatement proposals. Interested contractors will need to demonstrate significant expertise in hazardous material removal, environmental compliance, and specialized asbestos abatement techniques. Evaluation criteria are likely to include technical capability, safety record, proposed methodology, and cost-effectiveness.

While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, contractors should anticipate potential local or state requirements for minority-owned, women-owned, or disadvantaged business enterprise participation. The project appears to be a public infrastructure improvement initiative, suggesting potential preferential consideration for local Bucks County or Pennsylvania-based firms. The substantial size of the environmental documentation (total 117MB) indicates a complex project requiring significant technical expertise and careful environmental management. Though exact budget ranges are not specified, the comprehensive nature of the asbestos abatement project and the involvement of multiple engineering and environmental assessment firms suggests a potentially significant investment. Contractors should be prepared to demonstrate robust environmental safety protocols, specialized asbestos removal certifications, and comprehensive project management capabilities to be competitive in this procurement opportunity.
