About this opportunity

The Veterans Administration Cincinnati VAMC is seeking construction services to renovate approximately 11,000 square feet of the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) on the 2nd floor of Building No. 1 at their Cincinnati, Ohio facility. The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 10 will issue Invitation for Bid (IFB) 36C25026B0001 for this comprehensive renovation project, which involves demolishing existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components, floor finishes, walls, and ceilings to accommodate a complete space redesign. The project scope includes constructing new patient rooms, offices, conference rooms, staff lounges, locker rooms, supply areas, and installing a High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) pandemic filtration system to provide negative pressure capabilities in patient rooms. While most construction work will be contained to the 2nd floor, additional work will extend above and below the floor level for utility connections and rooftop modifications for air handling equipment. The full solicitation is expected to be released on October 21, 2025, with responses due by November 21, 2025 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time, and all solicitation documents will be available electronically at no cost through www.sam.gov.

This procurement opportunity is fully set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), with no incumbent contractors mentioned in the notice. The estimated construction value ranges between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000, reflecting the substantial scope of this healthcare facility renovation project. The 11,000 square foot renovation area represents a significant portion of the medical center's intensive care capabilities and will require specialized construction expertise in healthcare environments. The project timeline appears to allow for planning and preparation phases before construction begins, though specific completion dates are not specified in the pre-solicitation notice. The inclusion of pandemic preparedness features, such as negative pressure patient rooms with HEPA filtration systems, demonstrates the facility's commitment to modern healthcare infrastructure standards. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit bids when the full solicitation becomes available, indicating the government's intent to maximize competition within the SDVOSB set-aside parameters.
