About this opportunity
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operating on behalf of the Department of Energy Office of Science, seeks quotations for one unit of MISK1_S_SP_HP (a compressed-pulse optical system), with quotes due August 26, 2026. This is a subcontract, not a Federal procurement directly subject to FAR; however, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations apply through DOE's purchasing system.
Place of performance is Menlo Park, California. The NAICS code is 33331, Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing; PSC is AJ12, General Science and Technology R&D Services.
The specification requires a 30 femtosecond compressed pulse duration with capability to reconfigure to 60 fs or 100 fs output. Optical systems must include dispersion compensation mirrors for all configurations, maintain greater than 90% transmission (energy throughput), preserve output M² over one year, use all-dielectric, negligible-absorption optics with no active elements or moving parts, and include beam-monitoring and mode-matching software plus beam profiler. Remote installation and support, necessary valves, and connectors are required. Quote is for product only; no on-site services are permitted.
Source selection applies Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA). Offerors must provide a price certification letter confirming that pricing offered to SLAC is better than or similar to other customers, accompanied by a redacted invoice evidencing similar pricing to other customers. Offerors must certify acceptance of SLAC's Fixed Price Commercial Supplies-Services Terms & Conditions (August 2023), SLAC General Terms and Conditions Supplemental Rider (Revision August 2026), and FP Commercial Supplies and Services Subcontract Article X Cyber IT requirements. Representations and Certifications Rider, Buy American Act certification, and Stanford University cybersecurity and data-handling requirements per Article X apply. Export control documentation is required for Trigger List, USML/ITAR, Dual Use, or Commerce Control List items.
