About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 17 published a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a Firm-Fixed-Price Contract to Novamed Corporation for DirectCARE Basic (DCB) service support of Bayer Medrad medical injector equipment. The contract covers services at the Dallas VA Medical Center and represents Option Year 2 (the final option period) of existing contract number 36C25724P0085, which expires on November 30, 2026. This procurement was previously competed under RFQ #36C25724Q0098 and falls under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with a small business size standard of $34 million. The notice indicates the government's intent to award to a single source rather than conduct a competitive procurement, issued under the authority of FAR 13.5.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform interested parties of the government's sole-source procurement intent while providing an opportunity for responsible sources to demonstrate their capability and interest in the requirement. Interested contractors must submit capability information by 10:00 AM Central Time on December 12, 2025, to establish their ability to meet the service requirements. The contract encompasses onsite support by a Bayer-certified field engineer, hardware system coverage, equipment calibration per OEM specifications, software updates, certified parts replacements, and complete inspection and safety testing for seven Bayer/Medrad equipment models, including the MRXperion, Stellant D CT, and Stellant Flex units. While this is not a competitive request for quotations, the government retains sole discretion to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received, and information submitted will be used primarily to assess whether competition should be conducted.
