About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA VHA) is seeking to procure 38 medical workstations for the Salem VA Medical Center through Solicitation Number 36C24625Q0557. The medical carts must meet extensive technical specifications, including push-button motorized height adjustment (ranging from 26.25" to 44"), a touchscreen display, and a lightweight power system with WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities. Critical requirements include hospital-grade plastics, electronic medication bin locking, security features like PIN code drawer access, and comprehensive warranty coverage (6-year mechanical/electrical and 4-year battery performance). The solicitation requires a power system under 3 lbs with 51.4AH battery capacity, FIPS 140-2 listing, and the ability to interface with hospital IT service management systems. Potential vendors must submit their proposals by April 11, 2025, at 10 AM EDT, with the contract performance period anticipated to conclude on March 31, 2025.
The solicitation does not specify a specific set-aside, though the procurement falls under the Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing NAICS category (339113). While no incumbent contractor is explicitly mentioned, the document suggests a preference for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). The total contract value is not directly stated, but involves the procurement of 38 complex medical workstations with integrated technology including Dell OptiPlex computers, ViewSonic monitors, Zebra barcode scanners, and Seal Shield peripherals. The place of performance is the Salem VA Medical Center, located in Virginia, with the procurement including factory integration and white glove delivery services. The comprehensive technical specifications and integrated technology requirements indicate a sophisticated medical equipment procurement focused on advanced, secure, and adaptable medical cart solutions for healthcare professionals.
