Question #1. “Sheet C-02 shows a typical detail for both electrical and water trench’s. Is the detail typical for exterior and interior applications? Sheet E-03 shows an interior electrical conduit bank but we could not locate a similar detail for interior water trench's.

Does note 3 on sheet C-02 apply to interior trench's as well?”

USACE Response to Question #1: The trench detail on Drawing Sheet C-02 can be used for exterior and interior applications. As shown on Drawing Sheet S-03 the interior trench is excavated thru solid rock below the building floor slab.

Question #2. “Sheet A-04 Foundation plan. What is the extent of the canal edge sidewalk (section C & E on sheet S-05)? Does it end at the building corners, extend to the 257'-4" dimension or extend to the areas beyond the 257'-4" dimension? Is the cross section for the remaining sidewalks similar to the canal edge or as described in detail 2 on sheet S-05?”

USACE Response to Question #2: The canal walk extends the entire length along the canal as shown on Drawing Sheet A-05 and it’s detailed in Detail 8 on Drawing Sheet S-01. See Drawing Sheet S-01 for more detailed dimensions of the canal walk and sidewalks at the ends of the building. The sidewalk that runs down the sides of the building and under the equipment pads butts up to the canal walk as shown in Detail 2 on Drawing Sheet S-05.

Question #3. “Sheet E-03 indicates where the diesel generator & utility transformer are to be located but does not provide details for the pads/foundations. Can pad/foundation drawings be provided? If no, what are we to be base our proposal on?”

USACE Response to Question #3:Refer to Drawing Sheet E-03 which was revised, by way of Solicitation Amendment 0003, which was posted on FedBizopps.gov on August 27, 2009.

Question: “Upon review of the specification section 07 51 13, Built-up Asphalt Roofing, we found under section 2.2 Fiberglass Felt Materials, a. Venting Base Sheet. The wrong material is specified. The ASTM D 4897, Type II is designed for high moisture content substrate, and not over the type used on this project. It is also designed to be mechanically fastened or spot mopped to the substrate, and not mopped solid. The proper Fiberglass Base Sheet is the ASTM 4601, Type II product. I have attached product data sheets on these two products. You can also apply four piles of the Ply Felt in lieu of the base sheet, which the manufacture’s would rather see.”
