14.

The following items are Brand Name Only, no substitutions will be accepted.

14.1 Schlage Primus - locks: Master-keyed interchangeable lock cores manufactured by Schlage Primus Restructured Keyway Key systems were adopted as the standard for securing buildings at the 148th Fighter Wing (FW) approximately 5 years ago. All 148th buildings are being converted to the Schlage Primus Restructured Keyway Key system through remodels and new construction. The 148th FW facility maintenance staff is trained in the creation, repair and management of these locking devices.

14.2 Vindicator - Electronic Door Access: One of the security systems managed at these sites is Vindicator Security System field. Included in the initial system fielding was a central computer server to manage the day-to-day monitoring of the installed systems and to support the creation and management of the access cards used by employees to gain entry to these buildings. Communication between building systems and the computer server is via the 148th FW intranet. The software programs used by this equipment were required to undergo security certification by the Department of Defense. The card incorporated individually assigned electronic identification numbers to enable employee access. To maintain compatibility/communication with the present system currently used throughout the base, Vindicator is the only manufacturer that is compatible with AFI 31-101 and the existing Base Security Force's Vindicator security system.

14.3 Square D Power Logic - Electrical Power Monitoring: Power Logic Quality Meter & Analyzer currently monitors building electrical systems and provides wing wide analysis from its central server location in B252 at the 148th Fighter Wing. The Department's Wide Area Network is built around Power Logic products due to their spec power monitoring abilities. The central monitoring station at the 148th FW includes Power Logic proprietary software which does not support other brands of hardware. Maintenance staff has received advanced training in the repair, configuration and replacement of Power Logic Control products.

14.4 MCM Engineering, Inc - 400Hz Power Distribution Equipment: Our electrical division has found that our 400 Hz power distribution equipment shall be installed as per the base standard specification. The specification for the 400 Hz power distribution equipment is aircraft specific and shall be manufactured by MCM Engineering, Inc. This equipment will be stand-alone and provide 115/200 VAC, 400 Hz, low voltage power for aircraft use.

14.5 FCX Systems or Unitron Inc - Frequency Converters: FCX systems solid state frequency converters have been the base’s standard equipment to change AC power Frequencies for the past 11 years. The continued installation of products by this company will save considerable labor and expense over the costs associated with the acquisition of a different brand that would require a new investment in time and money to maintain and provide the employees with the new training required for a second system.

14.6 Monaco - Fire Alarm & Mass Notification: Fire alarm systems manufactured by Monaco are installed in approximately 48 buildings on the 148th FW. The Department employs maintenance staff able to modify, repair, extend and install complete new systems. The Security Department at the 148th FW monitors security and fire alarm systems around the clock. The central monitoring station relied on for this work is a Monaco product. The continued installation of products by this company will save considerable labor and expense over the costs associated with the acquisition of a different brand that would require a new investment in time and money to maintain and provide the employees with the new training required for a second system.

14.7 Vindicator - Access Control and Intrusion Detection: One of the security systems managed at these sites is Vindicator Security System field. To maintain compatibility /communication with the present system currently used throughout the base, Vindicator is the only manufacturer that is compatible with AFI 31-101 and the existing Base Security Force's Vindicator security system.

14.8 Tyco - Plenum Rated Category 6 Cable: Base communication’s standard is Tyco, Corning MIC Series, and Essex cabling, connecting devices, installation, and testing for wiring systems to be used as signal pathways for voice and high-speed data transmission pathways for voice and high-speed data transmission. The continued installation of these products will provide the required continuity that base communications mandates in all of its facilities.

14.9 Corning MIC Series - Fiber Optic Riser Cable: Base communication’s standard is Tyco, Corning MIC Series, and Essex cabling, connecting devices, installation, and testing for wiring systems to be used as signal pathways for voice and high-speed data transmission pathways for voice and high-speed data transmission. The continued installation of these products will provide the required continuity that base communications mandates in all of its facilities.

14.10 Essex - Multi-Pair Category 3 UTP Riser Rated Cable: Fiber Optic Riser Cable: Base communication’s standard is Tyco, Corning MIC Series, and Essex cabling, connecting devices, installation, and testing for wiring systems to be used as signal pathways for voice and high-speed data transmission pathways for voice and high-speed data transmission.
