ADDENDUM 02 Page 1 of 1

ANSWERS TO CONTRACTOR QUESTIONS/COMMENTS:

1. Section 01 6116 VOC content restriction – review paint products used for metal ductwork and exposed ceiling members (bar joist & metal decking). These items have been problematic in the past with low VOC coatings. 2) Please consider making all exposed ductwork “paint grip” finish. This will aid in paint adhesion greatly.

Response: 1) Paint product(s) for exposed ceiling areas can be changed to product(s) that do not meet the low-VOC requirement. However, a LEED VOC Paint Budget approach will need to be used to document all paints and coatings VOCs used on the project for the LEED IEQ4.2 credit. The actual total overall VOC content for the project will need to be calculated by volume of products used.

That total which must be equal to or lower than the VOC budget total for the project if all products (by volume) reached the maximum VOC limits. Paint product substitutions must clearly identify what the new product will be replacing and where it will be used, and VOCs must be clear in the product data.

2) Refer to Spec 23 3100, 2.02C Paint Grip finish is already specified.

2. Please verify the fire rating on the plastic lockers required for this project.

Response: The HDPE lockers have a Class C fire rating, which is acceptable for this project.
