About this file

This file is a Request for Information (RFI) with Questions and Answers related to Solicitation W50S7X-26-Q-0010 for Backflow Preventer Upgrades at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. The RFI addresses nine questions submitted by potential contractors and provides clarifications from the Kansas Air National Guard regarding the scope of work, existing equipment specifications, site inspection requirements, and technical specifications for backflow preventer replacements.

The revised scope of work encompasses four backflow preventer replacements: Building 44 Room 118 (1" Watts 909 RPZ, Serial 548898) for boiler makeup water; Building 5 (1.5" Watts 009M2 QT RP, Serial 140892) for domestic water; Building 56 (1" Watts 009M2 QT RP, Serial 277591) for domestic water; and Building 48 Fire Riser Room (4" Colt 200 DC, Serial EL-0865) for fire suppression. Building 33 and the second Building 44 device were removed from the revised scope. The government clarified that contractors may submit code-compliant, like-for-like equivalent replacements without specific model or manufacturer requirements, and that contractors requesting to unwire and rewire alarm tamper switches must provide 24-hour notice. The government indicated that contractors are welcome to conduct supplemental site inspections of Buildings 5 and 56, though photographs were provided as sufficient documentation to meet inspection requirements under the Statement of Work.
