About this file

This document is a Vendor Affidavit from Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) regarding the use of coercion for labor and services, specifically addressing human trafficking prevention under Section 787.06(13) of Florida Statutes. The affidavit requires all nongovernmental entities (contractors) executing, renewing, or extending a contract with HCPS to provide a signed statement certifying that they do not engage in various coercive or exploitative labor practices.

The affidavit explicitly prohibits contractors from using physical force, restraining individuals, establishing exploitative debt arrangements, confiscating identification documents, causing financial harm, enticing people by fraud, or providing controlled substances for exploitation. Contractors must sign the document under penalty of perjury, attesting that they do not participate in any of these prohibited activities. This requirement is part of HCPS's broader effort to ensure ethical labor practices among its vendors and contractors, particularly in the context of the fire alarm inspection services procurement detailed in the associated contract opportunity description.
