WORKLOAD
This TE provides workload data for transportation services as described in C.2.2.
Workload data is provided by month for peak and non-peak periods. Summary data is provided followed by site-specific data.
Definitions for the following categories cited in the workload data are provided:
Location – Provides information for the named location.
From Building-to-Building – Refers to the start and finish location for the run. See legend for building identification information.
Building-to-Building Driving Runs – Refers to the monthly number of runs made from one location to another.
Miles Driven – Refers to the total monthly mileage incurred for the run.
Times – Refers to the cumulative number of times a particular activity is performed each month. Figures reflect the average monthly workload data for each year.
Box and Box-size Containers – Refers to the cumulative number of boxes or box-size containers handled by employees during the month. An average box is 16.5x7.5x11.5” in size and weighs 30 lbs on average.
Rolling Stock Containers - Refers to the cumulative number of various rolling stock containers, such as batch carts, handled by employees during the month. Batch carts average 43.5x18x33 in size and weigh approximately 90 lbs. Other rolling stock containers are approximately 61x30x48” in size and can weigh up to 575 lbs. For planning purposes, 75% of rolling stock containers are batch carts.
Loose Items – Refers to the cumulative number of loose, or non-boxed items, handled by employees during the month. An average container of loose items measures 18.5x11.5x13” and weighs approximately 20 lbs.
Pallets – Refers to the cumulative number of pallets handled by employees during the month. An average pallet measures 42x46x48” and weighs approximately 1,700 lbs.
