About this file

This document is an instructional guide from the City of Boston regarding automatic email notification registration for procurement opportunities. The file provides guidance to potential vendors on how to sign up for automated alerts related to the City's solicitations and contract opportunities through the Boston Supplier Portal. While specific details about notification setup procedures are referenced, the document serves as a support resource to facilitate vendor participation in the competitive bidding process for municipal contracts, including the snow hauling and removal services solicitation for six municipal parking lots (areas A through F) on an as-needed basis with bids due September 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EDT.

The registration process enables vendors to receive timely notifications of bid opportunities, addenda, and other relevant procurement information directly via email, ensuring vendors remain informed of critical deadlines and updates. This notification system is particularly important for time-sensitive solicitations such as the snow hauling contract, which requires vendors to complete mandatory pre-bid site inspections, prepare detailed scope-of-work responses, and assemble comprehensive bid packages including equipment documentation, insurance certificates, operator licenses, wage theft prevention certifications, and pricing submissions through the City of Boston Supplier Portal at https://procurement.boston.gov prior to the specified deadline.

Signing Up For Automatic Email Notifications

Signing up for automatic email notifications allows you to be notified via email when an event you may be interested in is available. Please choose the categories that best match your organization's bidding interests.

1. Open your Internet browser and type in https://procurement.boston.gov

2. Enter your User ID and Password, these are case sensitive so you’ll need to enter them exactly as they appear.

*If you’ve logged in correctly, the page will look like the example shown below.

The ‘Login as an existing user’ box is replaced by ‘Top Menu Features and Descriptions’

3. From that Home page you’ll want to navigate from Main Menu > Manage Events and Place Bids > My Categorizations. This is where you will select the categories that best match your organization's bidding interests.

4. Don’t forget to click ‘Save’ when you’re done! If a bid event which matches one of the categories you selected is posted to the supplier portal, you will receive a notification via email.
