NTEA Fog Seal
Description NTEA Fog Seal is an anionic, emulsified asphalt used as a fog seal for chip seals. NTEA fog seal is non-tracking within 15 minutes* of application through proper asphalt selection and improved chemistry.
*follow proper application in suitable construction weather
Uses/Benefits NTEA Fog Seal is used as a fog seal that sets quickly after application allowing traffic to resume to normal. Due to the quicker setting characteristics and resistance to pick-up or tracking.
Application
To ensure proper coverage of NTEA Fog Seal, typically, an application rate of 0.08 – 0.12 gallons per square yard of emulsion is specified. For additional guidance, contact your local sales representative for further information.
Storage and Handling Store the emulsion at the recommended temperature illustrated in the table below.
Overheating the emulsion or allowing the emulsion to freeze will damage the product and prevent future use. Gently agitate the emulsion before use.
Avoid over pumping and recirculation. Emulsions perform best when used within two days. Never mix different types of emulsion. Do not add water to the emulsion.
Minimum Maximum
Storage Tank 170°F (77°C) 190°F (88°C) Application 180°F (82°C) 200°F (93°C)
