CONTRACTOR QUESTION 10: Paragraphs 3.18.1 and 3.21.5 require repairs to both packing liners and shaft seal liners respectively. Typical shafting configuration does not employ both. Please clarify the repair requirments and provide a proper reference drawing detailing all areas and items required to be repaired.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE:
- Paragraph 3.18 is referring to the areas on the shaft
- Paragraph 3.21 is referring to the actual seals
CONTRACTOR QUESTION 11: The references listed in paragraphs 2.1 thru 2.11 of item 245-11-001 ar not vessel specific with regards to propeller size, dimensions, pitch, configuration, etc., making it difficult if not near impossible for the Propeller

Please define a linear foot of gusset. Please define a linear foot of bracket. Because all of the items listed could have varying weights per foot of anywhere from 5# to 50# or more per foot, it is absolutely impossible to fairly estimate this requirement. If the Government can't more precisely define quantities of exact dimensions for all contractors to bid on, then please consider a larger amount of LOE manhours and materials in paragraph 3.11 to accomodate this requirement.
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE:
- As a MSR/ABR the Contractor should have the information to answer this question
- No larger amount of LOE will be considered to accommodate this requirment.
CONTRACTOR QUESTION 9: Paragraphs 3.2 thru 3.2.2 require the contractor obtain the services of an authorized technical representative…for the equipment listed 1.3. Paragraph 4.3 lists Wartsila Defense as a possible source for the Technical
