AUTOMATED DIGITAL NETWORK SYSTEM (ADNS-SFF) SUPPORT_REV -

1.0 ABSTRACT:

1.1 This item describes industrial support services required during the ADNS-SFF installation to be accomplished by a MSC Contractor outside of this work item. Support described herein is required for the installation of the Automated Digital Network System Increment III, Small Form Factor (ADNS-SFF) [AN/USQ-144A (V)9] equipment.

3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION:

3.1 Location/Quantity:

3.1.1 Location: Communication Center 07-62-1-C

3.1.2 Quantity: None

4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES: None.

5.0 NOTES:

5.1 The Contractor and all Subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the Contractor and all Subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s.

5.2 The Contractor and all Subcontractors, regardless of tier are advised to review other work items under this contract to determine their effect on the work required under this work item. Many of the definitions relating to performance of this work item are found in Work Item 001.

5.3 This ship contains High Voltage (HV) electrical systems. The Contractor and Subcontractors shall obey all posted and verbal instructions regarding safety and exclusion from High Voltage areas. At no time shall a Contractor or Subcontractor approach, work on, or enter a High Voltage area without proper authorization.

5.4 THE T-AKE CLASS ELECTRICAL COLOR CODING DOES NOT FOLLOW A CONSISTENT COLOR SCHEME. THE SHIP IS KNOWN TO HAVE CURRENT CARRYING CONDUCTORS COLORED GREEN, BLUE, BLACK AND WHITE. ASSUME ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE ENERGIZED UNTIL TESTED OTHERWISE. TEST ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES TO ENSURE THEY ARE DE-ENERGIZED PRIOR TO WORKING ON THE SYSTEMS.

5.5 The location identified in paragraph 3.1.1 is a US Navy Communications space which has the capability to handle classified material including Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment on a Need-to-Know Basis. If there is a requirement or a condition when classified messages occur, all work will stop until the area can be cleared of all classified materials. This decision will be the sole responsibility of the Captain or his designated Communications Department Representative.

6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None additional.

7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED:

7.1 Provide crane, rigging, storage, forklift, JLG and transportation services at the request of the MSCREP to move materials from storage to destination location on the ship. Estimate (10) lifts to accomplish material and supplies movement to location identified in 3.1.1. Maximum weight to be lifted is approximately 1,000 pounds, with information provided in enclosure 2.2.1.

7.2 Provide a 10 ft x 10 ft Lay-Down area near the pier that is within close proximity to the ship.

7.3 Provide 110 VAC for power tools at the location identified in paragraph 3.1.1.

7.3.1 Power supply should have quick disconnect points when transiting Security Hatches.

7.4 Painting: None additional.

7.5 Markings: None additional.

7.6 Manufacturer’s Representative: None.

8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: None Additional.
