About this file

This is a Maintenance Bond document issued by the City of Carmel, Indiana for the Clay Center Road Path Construction and Culvert Replacement Project. The bond serves as a guarantee that the contractor will provide high-quality workmanship and materials for the project, with the surety agreeing to cover any repairs or replacements needed due to defective work for a period of three years after the project's public maintenance acceptance. The bond outlines the contractor's obligation to repair or replace any improvements that may become necessary due to improper workmanship or materials, ensuring the project meets all local, state, and federal standards and regulations.

The maintenance bond covers a comprehensive infrastructure project involving the construction of a 10-foot wide multi-use path along the west side of Clay Center Road, extending from Clay Spring Drive to 500 feet north of Brighton Avenue. The project scope includes ditch grading, storm sewer installation, eight curb ramps, and a mid-block crossing at Brighton Avenue. A significant component of the project is the replacement of existing triple 84-inch pipes conveying Elliott Creek with a new 64-foot, 19'x7' reinforced coated concrete box structure, including appropriate headwalls and wingwalls. The pavement will be widened to provide an adequate shoulder and turn-lane taper, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to road and path infrastructure improvement.
