Industry Day Questions
| Industry Day - List of Questions | |||
| Item # | Topic | PWS Paragraph | Context / Questions |
| 1 | Improving Quality Service for Service Members and Civilians | How will you improve quality "at the curbside" for our customers? DOD is looking for improved service. How will you innovate? | |
| 2 | Forecasting, Capacity, Peak Season | Our demand is stable and predictable every year. What will you do to ensure year-round capacity, including peak season? What is the nature of your current relationships to companies that have experience doing physical household goods moves? What will you do to ensure capacity for unit relocation volume moves, school graduations, and "hard-lift" areas? | |
| 3 | Key Metrics | What key metrics (both strategic and operational) do you recommend? | |
| 4 | Pricing | How should this contract be priced? | |
| 5 | Counseling | 1.2.4.2 | How would you provide counseling? What type of infrastructure would be required to do this for the average customer as well as customers in remote locations (e.g.: At sea)? |
| 6 | IT | PWS 1.2.2 | USTRANSCOM's initial IT concept is to maintain an orders integration platform (MilMove) and associated database for government functions and oversight. We envision a contractor-provided platform to execute & track individual shipments, that can also ingest customer requirements from the orders integration platform, and push transactional and event data to the government database. We are also looking for the contractor to provide a user interface for customers to exchange information about their move. The ideal customer-facing system is web-based and mobile friendly, to ensure usability. What systems are in use or available to accomplish these requirements? What are the costs involved? What changes if it is application vs web-based? |
| 7 | Scheduling | PWS 1.2.4.3 | What levels of service can the contractor provide for scheduling, pickup, delivery? How far out can dates become firm for a particular process step, and what spread dates are common? How should short notice requirements be handled? |
