Question: Could the USG please provide additional characterization of the desired operation of the LCD brightness with respect to the cockpit lighting control system referenced in 3.2.4.2. i.e. Is desired operation of LCD brightness to be independent of, or controlled by this system in some manner?

Answer: The cockpit lighting system will control the bezel lighting, not the LCD brightness.

Question:

Is the only way of switching from Day/Night using the provided bezel button? (This could provide an undesired lighting condition during power up ‐ i.e., power up at night when display is set to 300 nits could inadvertently over illuminate the cockpit).

Answer: The bezel controls are required as stated. Alternate solutions or recommendations may be proposed as stated in the RFP.

Question: Is there an input from the MH‐6 AMS via the Ethernet interface that will also control this dimming functionality?

Answer: The AMS Ethernet interface will be developed based on ICD data provided by the RRU vendor.

Question: Will the USG provide a brightness level for default power up brightness / mode for the RRU prior to or after contract award?

Answer: Alternate solutions or recommendations may be proposed as stated in the RFP. Design decisions will be mutually agreed upon by the Govt and contractor.

Question: Is it acceptable to default to the night mode during power‐up to prevent the crew from inadvertently powering the RRU up with full illumination?

Answer: Alternate solutions or recommendations may be proposed as stated in the

RFP.
