08‐24‐15 Question: Does this project require DO‐178 and DO‐254 design as a mandatory requirement for both the 5 prototype, 4 LRIP (testing), and full rate production units?

Answer: No

Question: If we are able to describe our software development processes to ensure that the ARINC 661 interface is stable and incorruptible, without completing full DO 178B/C certification (within the allocated 8 month development cycle for preproduction units, and the 4 months for the testing units), will this be technically acceptable to the USG?

Answer: Yes

Question: The USG is requesting acceptance test procedures for airworthiness. Should the contractor assume that the USG will be accomplishing the flight portion of integration and test with the regimental aircraft, or will the contractor be required to perform the aircraft flight duties with USG developmental test flight personnel? Or, will the USG require on aircraft integration and test using ground power (engines/rotor not turning), or test and evaluation in a SIL environment?

Answer: The USG will perform flight test with a regimental aircraft. Prior to this flight test, the USG will be performing test and evaluation in both a SIL environment and ground test.

Question: Can the contractor submit examples of non RRU display development to demonstrate a technically acceptable approach to RRU development?

Answer: All submitted proposals will be evaluated based upon the guidelines as documented in sections L and M of the RFP.

Question: Is the development of CDF/DF and UA that is Future Airborne Capability Environment compliant a requirement, desired or not desired?

Answer: The RRU vendor is to develop the CDF/DF and UA per requirements documented in the RFP package.

Question: Based upon your call out for ARINC 429‐15 MARK‐33 Digital Information Transfer System, will the software be loaded to the RRU via a DTD/DTU (i.e. 7000/7100)?

Answer: The reference of ARINC‐429 is in error. Per the Performance Spec, paragraph 3.2.12, the software shall be loaded via the DTU per ARINC‐615A (Ethernet).

Question: To ensure the operations manual is complete for user purposes, will the USG provide the purposes and display information intended to be displayed with each Bezel Key command?

Answer: Display information will be created and documented by the AMS developer. Operations information in CDRL A006 is expected to be generic in nature. The primary data anticipated to be documented in CDRL A006 is the maintenance aspect for the RRU.

Question: Will the USG accept alternative avionics integration and test locations closer to Ft. Campbell, thus offering a possible program cost savings to the USG?

Answer: No

Question: There is a reference in the ATTCH 2 PWS for “ANSI/TIA/EIA‐422‐B RS‐422 Electrical Characteristics of Balanced Voltage Differential Interface circuits”, but we do not see a requirement for it within the SOW. Is there a RS‐422 interface mandatory requirement in the RRU?

Answer: No
