About this file
This is an Amendment to Advertised Contract for the FY2026 Asphalt Resurfacing Project Contract I issued by Paulding County, Georgia. The project encompasses approximately 17.26 miles of patching, leveling, milling, and plant mix resurfacing on eight county roads: East Paulding Drive, Bakers Bridge Road, Williams Lake Road, Paulding Meadows Drive, Fate Fuller Road, Millertown Road, McBrayer Road, and Hutcheson Pass. All roads will include thermoplastic striping, with East Paulding Drive and Bakers Bridge Road required to be paved at night and all other roads paved during daytime hours unless otherwise approved. The project includes significant quantities of materials and services, including 26,955 tons of migrading, 8,620 tons of 12.5mm recycled asphalt concrete, 1,000 tons of 9.5mm recycled asphalt concrete, 64,970 square yards of milling, and 52,630 gallons of bituminous tack coat. The letting date is March 27, 2026, with this Amendment Number 1 issued on March 5, 2026.
Amendment 1 addresses clarifications received from bidders regarding project specifications and requirements. Key clarifications include confirmation that patching depths are set at 2 inches standard but may increase to 4-5 inches if failures are discovered during milling, asphalt type specifications of 19MM Superpave GP1 or GP2 with bituminous material and hydrated lime, and that all side road turns, lanes, aprons, and non-concrete residential and commercial driveways will be resurfaced as marked by the project engineer. The amendment specifies that temporary advance warning signs are not permitted; signs must be post-mounted a minimum of seven days before work commences. Additionally, the amendment includes a revised bid item sheet correcting an omission in quantities for 9.5mm asphalt concrete and provides detailed line items with units of measure for all materials and services required for completion.
