About this file
This is Amendment No. 1 to an advertised contract for the Paulding County FY2026 Asphalt Resurfacing Project (Contract I, Project Number 2026-ASPH-1, Bid #26015-1508). The amendment clarifies specifications and requirements for the resurfacing work scheduled for a March 27, 2026 letting date. The project encompasses asphalt resurfacing on multiple roads in Paulding County, including East Paulding Drive and Bakers Bridge Road, which must be paved during nighttime hours, while other roads are to be paved during daytime unless otherwise justified. The scope includes milling existing asphalt pavement (64,970 square yards), patching with 19MM Superpave asphalt at a standard depth of 2 inches (expandable to 4-5 inches if subsurface failures are discovered), resurfacing side roads, turn lanes, aprons, and non-concrete driveways, and applying thermoplastic pavement markings. The amendment addresses eight bidder questions regarding paving schedules, asphalt specifications, patching depths, warning sign requirements, scope of work on driveways, road segment limits, bridge requirements, and corrected quantities for 9.5mm asphalt material.
The revised bid item sheet reflects corrected quantities for materials and services, including 26,955 tons of recycled asphalt concrete in various grades (12.5mm and 9.5mm Superpave), 52,630 gallons of bituminous tack coat, traffic control items, thermoplastic striping in multiple configurations, raised pavement markers, and erosion control materials such as permanent grassing (13 acres), agricultural lime (23 tons), fertilizer (370 pounds nitrogen content), and wood fiber blanket (65,116 square yards). Temporary advance warning signs must be post-mounted a minimum of seven days before work commences, and all modifications must be acknowledged by bidders on the amendment certification page. Bidders are responsible for making all necessary changes in ink to their proposals in accordance with the amendment specifications.
