Pavements Maintenance and Repair, IDIQ Additional Information Posting #2 May 11, 2009 The following 3 Questions and Answers are provided:
Q1. As discussed at the last site visit, you would be sending a quantity that everyone should be using for pavement repairs and shoulder repair/re-grade. What is the quantity?
A1. The government has reconsidered posting a quantity for pavement repairs and shoulder repair/re-grade for ULDF 09-0007 Repair Access Road, Newport Annex 2. Offerors must use the proposal documents as well as industry standards to determine those quantities. During the evaluation of proposals the government will determine if offerors’ estimated quantities are sufficient for the requirement. Offerors are welcome to request additional clarifications.
Q2. What is the detail for an asphalt stabilized shoulder? There does not appear to be a unit in the price schedule that would work.
A2. Regarding the shoulder, see line item II-06 which is linked to section 303 of the NYDOT specs.
Q3. Regarding the shoulder, could you please try to clarify (a) which option of section 303 applies, (b) the proposed width, and (c) whether it is a square yard bid item?
A3. All options will be considered. It is the offerors’ responsibility to propose a suitable option and break it down in their proposal using pre-priced items, non-prepriced items, or a combination of each. During the evaluation of proposals the government will determine if the offerors’ estimated items and quantities are sufficient for the requirement. Offerors are welcome to request additional clarifications.
