Statement of Work

1.0 Introduction

1.1 Project Title

This work will be performed under the contract for the planning, fabrication, and installation of a Bi-Parting Empennage Enclosure (BPEE) at building 7000 on Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts.

This Statement of Work (SOW) is made and entered by and between 439 CONF/LGC and [Contractor]. This SOW incorporates by reference the terms and conditions of Contract Number [XXX-XXX-XXX] in effect between the State and [Contractor]. In case of any conflict between this SOW and the Contract, the Contract shall prevail. The Agency and Contractor agree as follows:

1.2 Background:

Half of the DC Hangar, Building 7000, serves as a nose dock for Isochronical (ISO) inspections and maintenance. Currently, when an aircraft is in position for maintenance, the rear fuselage and the tail of the aircraft extends through the aperture opening in the hangar doors and is exposed to the elements. The work platform for performing aircraft tail maintenance and repair is a separate, self-propelled mobile maintenance stand. With the tail and the maintenance stand outside the hangar, extensive inspection and maintenance delays are experienced during periods of inclement weather.

1.3 Objectives

To improve inspection and maintenance efficiency the design, fabrication, and erection of a mobile tail enclosure is required to provide weather protection to the C-5 tail and the maintenance stand.
