QUESTIONS & ANSWERS (#2)
(7 Sep 12) Question 8: During the site visit there was mention of the Base providing a temporary generator. Please confirm.
Government Response: No, there will be not be a temporary generator or back-up power. Power must be off to make final connection to the main switchgear. The user should be notified a week ahead of time before starting the project and given a date and how long the power outage will be; this will be up to the contractor. Contractor must refrain from any power outages until the last phase of the project.
Question 9: An isolation switch is not being installed, only +/- 50' of overhead line is being removed and new transformer is being placed near existing service connection pole. There could be a cost and time savings using existing pole and stubbing out of transformer pad for future underground connection.
Government Response: The overhead line that exists across Truemper ST feeding B-6300 will be replaced by an underground line that is going to stop just on the South side of Truemper ST, hence the reason for installing the pole referred to in the SOW at 40FT from the curb at Truemper.
