About this file
This is a Prevailing Wage Handout for Crane Rental Services (OP140719) issued by the California Department of Industrial Relations in conjunction with what appears to be a public works contract in Southern California, Los Angeles County. The document outlines prevailing wage requirements applicable under California State Determination CA-2026-1 and Federal Determination CA20260022 Modification 5. The prebid date is September 10, 2026, with a bid issue date of July 21, 2026. The handout specifies that all prevailing wage inquiries should be directed to the Contract Administrator, and notes that federal wage determinations may be subject to change based on the contract award date, with the Contract Administrator responsible for notifying the awardee of any modifications.
Key compliance requirements include mandatory contractor registration with the California Department of Industrial Relations' Contractor Registration Database at both bid and award stages, with penalties up to $8,000 for failure to register and up to $10,000 for hiring unregistered subcontractors. Bidders must obtain all necessary California state business licenses, and all public works contracts valued over $30,000 require apprentice hiring with a minimum ratio of 20% apprentice to journeyman hours over the contract life. Contractors must submit apprenticeship documentation including DAS 140 and DAS 142 forms. Employment records must be retained for a minimum of three years from contract completion in accordance with federal and California Labor Code requirements. Alternative work weeks are prohibited unless approved by the Department of Industrial Relations and Metro project management. Prime contractors must complete the Department of Labor Conformance Process for classifications not listed in the federal wage determination, and prevailing wage monitoring will be conducted through LCPtracker.
