No. OFFEROR QUESTION GOVERNMENT RESPONSE

Section B Pricing; Tab "Base Period" in the CLIN

SUMMARY area. Excel row 131 lists Dell Precision

Computer (P/N 7040). We believe this should be Dell

Optiplex Computer (P/N 7040).

Refer to the updated Section B. The Dell Precision Computer (P/N 7040) listed in row 131 in the Base

Period of Section B is incorrect. The correct computer type and part number for Row 131 in the Base

Period of Section B is Dell Optiplex Computer (P/N 7040).

Page C-24, Section 3.12 lists "TSS Pseudo Pilot" as an item to be upgraded, (quantity 26 in Section B). It does not list the computers or parts associated with this item:

leaving the impression that the entire unit must be procured and updated. J-6 Pseudo Pilot configuration lists: "Computer, Computer, Audio Box, Foot Pedal, Touchscreens, Monitor Arms, etc.". Q/A #17 requests specifications on items such as Audio Box, the FAA answer leads us to believe some items are not to be procured and updated. Please provide specifics on which items should be upgraded as part of the "TSS

Pseudo Pilot" line item.

Refer to the updated Section J-6. The table in Section J-6 - Tower Simulation System (TSS) Pseudo

Pilot Configuration has been modified to provide the information requested by this question.

Q/A Answer 3 lists Adacel System Inc. Linux version

6.7 as an intended operating system. Will this modified operating system be provided to the contractor by the

FAA as GFE?

The Linux 6.7 operating system will be contained in the MaxSim 4 TSS software that will be provided by the Government for this contract as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).

Page C-24, Section 3.12 update states "All computers require… Windows 10 Professional Operating system".

Is the ASI Linux 6.7 operating system running as a virtual machine on Windows 10 in the updated configuration?

The fixed TSS systems (i.e., not mobile or portable) have multiple computer processing units (CPU) and do not use a virtual machine. The portable TSS units (e.g., Mobile Scenario Preparation Tool Station

(MSPTS), Suitcases) only have a single CPU and do use a Linux virtual machine.

Q/A answer 3 states no other software packages are required other than MaxSim 4 and Linux OS. This question may not have been stated clearly. Please confirm the contractor does not need to purchase and provide licenses for any Virtual Machine software, image generator licenses, Linux licenses, or other such software items as part of the tech refresh.

Offerors will not need to purchase and provide licenses for any virtual machine software, image generator licenses, Linux licenses, or other such software items under this TSS contract and do not need to include costs for these items in their proposal as these items will be provided by the Government as GFE for this contract.

Will the FAA please consider an extension as we ensure all of the specifications are clearly defined and priced accordingly?

Yes. Refer to the revised Sections A and L under Amendment 000003 for the extended proposal due date.

Regarding the FAA TSS request for proposal

(DTFAWA-17-R-00029), the graphic on page 7 of section L (Instructions to Offerors) lists four sections for Volume 1 (Offer and Other Documents). However, the text included in paragraph L.11 does not include

Section 4. The instructions for Section 1 thru 3 are clear, but I am having trouble finding what is to be included in Section 4 (Responsible Prospective

Contractors). Can you help to clarify?

The revised Section L includes instructions that address Volume I- Section 4 -Responsible Prospective

Contractors. Refer to the updated Section L.
