MTA | 20-year Needs Assessment, New York, NY

Web Designer & Developer. HDR provided communication, design, and online engagement support to MTA for the development of the 20 Year Needs Assessment plan and website and the upcoming 5-Year Capital Plan. The 20 Year Needs Assessment is a comprehensive review of infrastructure updates, upgrades, and transitions to the MTA service over the next 20 years. Christina and two other designers developed a custom interactive website (Concrete5 CMS, html, css, js, and Esri map embeds) and interactive pdf document to outline the City of Minneapolis Transportation Action Plan. Each Strategy had its own page with an interactive map and detailed descriptions of each Action related to that Strategy. Since its launch, the site has registered over 45,000 views.

Metrolinx | Queen Street-Highway 7 BRT, Brampton, Ontario, CA

Web Designer. HDR is providing an environmental assessment and preliminary design for this 24-kilometer proposed BRT corridor. Christina designed and led the development of a custom interactive map using html, css, js, and Google Maps API that provided users with information about six project segments and eight focus areas, allowed users to drop pins to leave a comment on a specific area, and incorporated a unique framework to show submitted comments AND the responses from the project team. This feature allowed the project team to review comments in real time and display responses using Google Sheets.

Comments included questions about general project information, user preferences for proposed concepts, and questions and comments about safety for various users (bicyclists, pedestrians, drivers, transit riders). The information gathered from this website will be considered during subsequent phases of design.

C-TRAN | Highway 99 BRT, Vancouver, WA

Web Designer. HDR provided planning and design services for a new BRT corridor along Highway 99 and Main Street that provided improved mobility to a critical north-south arterial connecting downtown Vancouver with adjacent unincorporated areas of Clark County. Christina designed and lead the development of a custom interactive map (html, css, js, and Google Maps API), and two custom online open house meetings (html, css, js, and Jotform) to inform the public and stakeholders and facilitate feedback and discussion on the proposed design options for termini, station stops, and street operations. In total, these online engagement tools were visited by nearly 600 people during the weeks they were live to the public. Over 130 comments were received through these digital channels during the same time.

Metropolitan Council | METRO D-Line Bus Rapid Transit, Saint Paul, MN

Web & Graphic Designer. The METRO D Line is an 18-mile BRT project to increase service speed and reliability along the regions busiest bus route. HDR is leading design and construction oversight. Christina designed and lead the development of a custom interactive map (html, css, js, Google Maps API) and an online open house meeting (html, css, js) to provide the public with information on the locations and amenities for 24 stations. The interactive map allowed users to click on each station and view a detailed drawing of proposed improvements and upgrades.

Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) | West Lake Corridor NEPA & Engineering Services for New Starts Project

Web Designer & Developer. NICTD hired HDR to serve as an extension of staff to advance an eight-mile extension of the South Shore Line (SSL), known as the West Lake Corridor, southward to provide new passenger rail service to three municipalities in Lake County. Christina has been providing design and development services for the West Lake Corridor website since 2017. This included working with planners, environmental, and right-of-way staff to develop content, designing the website, and partnering with another developer to build and maintain the website. Christina is also responsible for implementing content, sitemap, graphics, and layout updates to stay current and address evolving user needs of the public during the construction of the project.

City of Minneapolis | Street Design Guide Manual, Minneapolis, MN

Web & Graphic Designer. HDR was contracted to provide website planning, design, and development services for the Minneapolis Street Design Guide. The Guide was designed to be visually oriented, interactive, and includes searching and custom-print functionality. HDR also designed and integrated a PDF version of the Guide into the website. HDR developed the website in the concrete5 CMS to allow the client to edit content. Christina supported planning, design, development and content management on the project.

City of Minneapolis | Transportation Action Plan, Minneapolis, MN Web & Graphic Designer. HDR was contracted to provide communication, design, and online engagement support to the City of Minneapolis throughout the development of the Citys Transportation Action Plan.
