About this file
This document contains Special Provisions for the CR-15 Trail project by the Town of Windsor Parks, Recreation and Culture Department, utilizing the Colorado Department of Transportation's 2025 Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. The project involves trail infrastructure improvements, including trail extension, installation of a reinforced structural headwall, placement of a safety handrail, relocation of a signal pole, and median modifications on Harmony Road. The special provisions outline detailed specifications for various construction elements such as clearing and grubbing, excavation, concrete work, pipe installation, and force account items.
The project includes two primary force account items: Minor Contract Revisions estimated at $50,000 and Harmony Road Work estimated at $250,000. The town intends to negotiate unit costs with the contractor for the Harmony Road work instead of using standard force account methodology. The specifications provide extensive technical details for contractors, including requirements for concrete (such as fiber-reinforcing and sulfate exposure), pipe materials, backfilling procedures, and structural considerations. The project emphasizes precise technical standards, safety compliance, and infrastructure connectivity, with a focus on ensuring proper drainage, structural stability, and adherence to local and state construction guidelines.
