About this file
This document is Addendum #1 for Bid 4080GM issued by Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) in Florida for Chiller Preventative Maintenance and Repair Services, a term contract. The addendum updates several key contract elements, including changing Florida statute references from 2023 to 2024, adding a requirement for nongovernmental entities to provide a Human Trafficking Affidavit, and modifying key dates. The anticipated contract term is now September 11, 2024 through September 30, 2025, with potential renewal for three additional one-year periods by mutual agreement. The bid award is now anticipated at the September 10, 2024 Board meeting, shifted from the original August 13, 2024 date.
The addendum introduces several new compliance requirements, including mandatory use of the U.S. Homeland Security E-Verify system for employment eligibility verification, background screening for personnel, and a commitment to prevent human trafficking. Contractors must provide an affidavit certifying they do not use coercion for labor or services, with specific prohibitions outlined in the document. The School Board reserves the right to terminate the agreement if a vendor is placed on the State of Florida Forced Labor Vendor list. These modifications appear designed to enhance contractor accountability, ensure legal compliance, and protect against potential labor exploitation.
