6DISTRIBUTION A – Approved for Public Release – 88 ABW-2015‐5890

IDAL

• IDAL is a Radio Frequency (RF) battle-space environment simulation and assessment facility that is an integral part of the Electronic Warfare (EW) technology evaluation and maturation process

• Evaluate and demonstrate EW technology and systems in relevant RF test environments to support customer needs and user requirements

• Mature Electronic Warfare Support (ES) and Electronic Attack (EA) technologies through an iterative process of performance evaluation, issue identification, and problem resolution

• Assess and substantiate Technology Readiness Levels (TRL’s) needed for transitioning EW technologies

• Verify technology/capability improvements through regression assessments

• Reduce program risk in advancing through technology/system research, development, acquisition, and transition to the war-fighter

• Rapidly evolve and transition urgent requirement capabilities

7DISTRIBUTION A – Approved for Public Release – 88 ABW-2015‐5890

ESTEEM –vs– IDARP

ESTEEM

Focus on development of methodologies to conduct assessments, enable technology maturations and system integrations prior to flight testing

IDARP

Focus on modifying, upgrading, integrating and maintaining IDAL threat scenarios, digital simulations, and man/hardware-in-the-loop simulators
