About this file
This file is an instructional template for a Task Description Document (TDD) to be submitted as part of proposals to the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), specifically for the Intelligent Generator of Research (IGoR) program solicitation.
The template provides guidance for proposers to structure their technical approach by organizing work into phases and tasks with associated subtasks. For each task or subtask, proposers must document: the objective and detailed approach; the performance location and responsible organization; all deliverables with intellectual property assertions; whether human or animal subjects are involved; and measurable milestones with quantitative performance criteria. The template emphasizes that tasks and milestones must be cross-walked to cost proposal submissions and instructs proposers to remove blue instructional text before submission. The document contains no page limits and directs proposers to add or repeat tables as needed while excluding proprietary information. This is a formatting and instructional template only, not a substantive solicitation document addressing specific products, services, timelines, or pricing terms.

APPENDIX C.2: TASK DESCRIPTION DOCUMENT
NOTE: Blue font is instructional and should be deleted prior to document submission.
Task Description Document (TDD)
When submitting a proposal to ARPA-H, using this model to describe the planned technical tasks and subtasks is strongly encouraged. All text in blue font may be deleted. There is no page limit to this Model.
Instructions:
1. Provide the general objective of the proposal and a list of the tasks and subtasks by Phase and Technical Area that are being described. For each task/subtask, provide:
· A general description of its objective.
· A detailed description of the approach to be taken to accomplish it.
· Identification of where it will be performed (e.g., at a commercial laboratory; a non-profit site; on the campus of an academic institution, etc.).
· Identification (by name) of the primary organization (prime contractor, sub-awardee(s), consultant(s)) responsible for its execution.
· Identification of all deliverables (e.g., data, reports, software) to be provided to the government in support of the proposed tasks/subtasks.
· Identification of whether it will involve human- and/or animal subject research.
· Measurable milestones (A demonstration, event/activity that marks its progress or completion. For example, for an assay to be developed, a milestone stating that “the assay has been validated” is not sufficient; instead, it should specify quantitative performance criteria, such as “the assay achieves at least 95% sensitivity and 90% specificity.”)
· The tasks identified, and associated milestones, must be cross-walked to the Cost Proposal submission requirements as well.
1. A summary of the effort and why it matters:
2. Task List. The tasks/subtasks described herein are as follows. Breakout tasks, subtasks by Phase, by Technical Area as appropriate.
