Solicitation 70T05020R9DMED049 Amendment 0001 P a g e | 2
Question 1 - If Officers are in sitting position, such as a TDC, and there is access to power outlets – would the TSA be opposed a two-part system where on the passenger side there is a bolt on window speaker and the Officer has a desktop unit?
Answer 1 – The Government is not opposed to a desk top unit with a speaker on the passenger side; however, in no instance will the Government accept a solution that requires being plugged into a power outlet (See Specifications Page 26)
Question 2- If you require a window mounted unit with rechargeable batteries, would officer would need to stand up to chat, or, we would have to customize a long goose neck microphone?
Answer 2 – Any proposed solution shall be fit for use for the particular purposes described (See FAR 52.212-4(o)). For clarity, the only configuration where an officer is sitting is the TDC Podium. In all other configurations, the officer would be standing.
Question 3 - Will all panels requiring speak-through grill require the intercom device? For example, in the Divest Shielding, would all three panels require he intercom or only the center panel? For example, does the 3-Panel Divest Shielding (2 open panel, 1 closed panel), with Intercom (TSA-DIV-FUL-3000A) require only 1 panel with an Intercom?
Answer 3 – Yes, any and all panels in a specification that has a speak through grill depicted will require an intercom device.
Question 4 - Can you confirm that the BPSS Stand Only (TSA-TDC-BPS-0000) does not include the scanner mount?
Answer 4 - That is a configuration number intended to include the scanner mount. The Schedule has been updated to correct the ambiguity.
Question 5 - Is the pricing to be submitted to include shipping costs for each CONUS item?
Answer 5 – Yes
Question 6 - Do you have a projected ordering schedule or is there a time-frame for deliveries?
Answer 6 - No, there is not a projected ordering schedule other than the requirement that any contract awardee will be issued a delivery order at the time of award for greater than or equal to $10,000. The timeframe for order deliveries is stipulated in combined synopsis solicitation paragraph (xiii) in the sub-section entitled “Delivery.”
Question 7 - Please clarify “shall not require connection to grid power / electrical mains.” Does this mean the requirement is for a battery-powered intercom design?
Solicitation 70T05020R9DMED049 Amendment 0001 P a g e | 3
Answer 7 – The Government is not aware of any solution other than battery-powered that would meet the specification.
Question 8 - Can the intercom system run off low voltage AC or DC power with appropriate wiring to the intercom and power source?
Answer 8 - No
Question 9 - Please clarify the requirement for “Stanchions of 2.75 to -max 3 inch Diameter.” Will a Square design be accepted?
Answer 9 – Yes. Specifications have been updated to allow a square design.
Question 10 - Intercom, Configuration number TSA-DIV-FUL-3000B, Are the requirements for ONLY the 1 closed center panel to include the intercom? The open panels would be speak-through? And can we apply that logic to other similar configurations with multiple panels?
Answer 10 – See Question and Answer 3
Question 11 - Attachment 2 Schedule, OCONUS tab, column G-Estimated Annual Quantity, field has a calculating error that is rounding the quantity as a fraction affecting the extended price.
Answer 11 – Attachment has been corrected.
Question 12 – Has the ETD swing gates option has been eliminated from the specifications?
Answer 12 – There is no requirement for ETD swing gate options under this requirement.
Question 13 – Is there a specific gauge of metal required for the items?
Answer 13 – There is no specific gauge requirements; however, offerors are advised that any proposed solution shall be fit for use for the particular purposes described (See FAR 52.212- 4(o)).
Question 14 – Will you extend the due date?
Answer 14 – No
Question 15 – Will the Government use the past performance submitted under solicitation
70T05020R9DAP4088?
Answer – No. Although a vendor may elect to use the same projects for their past performance references, they must be re-submitted under this solicitation. No documentation submitted in response to the previous solicitation will be used in evaluating proposals under this solicitation.
