1. Would they like a quote on Metal Clad Switchgear or would Arc Resistant Gear be worth proposing? I know the industry is moving that direction and wouldn’t want them to regret it in 5 years because it wasn’t proposed.

Answer: Metal Clad Switchgear

2. Details show there is a 15’ max width. Are there other limitations such as Depth or Height?

Answer: NO, the actual width is 16’9”

3. Is the system Top or Bottom feed?

Answer: Both

4. Do you want Emergency Generator Breaker and ATS in the lineup or is that located in a separate location?

Answer: Can be part of switchgear like designated Breaker or separated ATS

5. Should the Emergency Generator and ATS be rated for 800 Amps?

Answer: Generator Breaker rated 600 Amps

6. If located in lineup is that included in the 15’ requirement?

Answer: Yes

7. What kind of termination is required to the bus? Lug’s or Crimp connections?

Answer: Preference Crimp termination

8. The requested 8 ea. Control Breakers were originally 2 pole. Do they still want to make these 1 Pole Breakers?

Answer: Single Pole Breaker

9. What amperage should these 1 Pole Breakers be? The original called for 30 Amp Breakers.

Answer: 20 Amps breakers is fine

10. Would they consider going to a small 18c Panel for these Breakers located in the same area? This way if something needed to be changed they could Shut Down separate from the Gear.

Answer: I would prefer to keep it the same way

11. How far is the Control Room from the Gear? (can be rough estimate) Answer: 300 Ft. or less

12. How far would the Data Run be from the Gear to the room as well? (can be rough estimate) Answer: 300 Ft. or less

13. What is meant by replacing the Open / Close Switch in the Control Room? Is there something already existing?

Answer: Yes, replace the switches the wire still in good shape.

14. Do you want it to integrate into an onsite computer or separate free standing I/O in the Control Room?

Answer: Integrated to the operator’s computer

15. Do they want Full Control next to the Gear? This way they can safely operate the Mains from a distance outside of the Arc Zone for maintenance.

Answer: The operator only have control from the 2 mains and the tie breaker, and just monitor the status (open/close) of the existing feeders.

16. What kind of Computer and Operating System is existing in the Control Room? I want to make sure what software is available will be compatible.

Answer: Dell Computer and Window software. For more information contact IT department

17. There is also a note for Signaling Lights for most of the remaining Feeder Breakers. Would they prefer to work these Breakers into the software for monitoring as well or do they need a separate Cabinet with Indication Lights and labeling of their status (this will require lots of wire pulls and distance issues I would integrate all of it into the software personally).

Answer: I would prefer to be integrated in the operator’s computer.

18. In the Scope of Work (paragraph #3) implies the new Switchgear is not sitting in the existing Gear Footprint. Is this correct?

Answer: Preference to install the new switchgear in the same location to avoid issues with the feeders.

19. In the Scope of Work (paragraph #3) the Secondary Feeders from K1D + K1E. Is this a Typo? Should it be K1C + K1D? The secondary feeder in question is from XFMR-K1E. This transformer secondary is 120/208v, and feeds the Main Lighting Cabinet L2A per the one-line diagram. The contractor is responsible for the installation and termination of the transformer secondary’s from K1D and K1C. They are the feeders from the 500kva transformers to the 480v switchgear. Should the statement read “Also, the contractor shall provide, install and terminate connections for 200 ft. of secondary runs (480 Volts) from Transformers K1D & K1C to new Metal Clad Switchgear location”?

Answer: The Contractor is responsible to provide conductors according NEC standards and terminate connections from transformers to the main bus inside of New Metal Clad Switchgear.

20. In the Scope of Work Period of Performance. Can the completion date be extended based on Manufacturing or Long Load Items if necessary?

Answer: Please refer to previous Q&A answer.

21. Will bonding be required? And, if so, what are the Percentages and Type?

Answer: Refer to the solicitation: “A Performance Bond is required for this Contract. FAR Clause 52.228-16 Alt I shall be incorporated in the resulting award in full text as provided for in the attached Clauses.”

22. Can the entire Facility be run on (1) 600A 480V 3Ø Feeder during construction?

Answer: Yes, we’re going to use only the necessary to support the plant and minimize the outage amount of time.

23. On the one-lines, the feeders to MSB and D1A/D3A are single conductor 250mcm. Can you tell me if those are in conduit or in the overhead tray system?

Answer: All these feeders are in conduits.
