Offeror Response:

1.1: HyeTech Overview Technology is one of the rapidly growing industries in Arizona, not only within the state government and education, but among all public and private sector entities. The State’s leadership understands our growing needs and is blazing the technology trail. Whether it’s streamlining requirements, allowing companies to deploy cell towers to invite 5G across the state, or earmarking funds for increasing broadband aimed at bringing the Phoenix/Tucson broadband capabilities to rural areas; our leadership is preparing for next-generation technology. This transformational vision requires a transformational team.

Hye Tech Network & Security Solutions, LLC (HyeTech) is that team. We have spent over fifteen years providing holistic enterprise solutions; solutions that scale. The complex technologies and methodologies that companies/people shy away from are those we run towards. Our solutions incorporate security embedded in each layer of any enterprise network. Our diverse engineering team regularly designs ways to improve infrastructure through automation, successively optimizing process and downtime. We have reimagined and deployed large scale enterprise platforms in some of the most delicate eco systems across the state. We have created cutting edge environments that utilize next-generation methodologies for implementation, management and monitoring. It is in our DNA.

Since inception, HyeTech has focused on providing clients throughout the State of Arizona with superior solutions for the State’s technology challenges, while accounting for scalable environments to enable future growth. Each new project is viewed as an opportunity to forge a long-term working relationship with our clients. This commitment requires HyeTech to examine the immediate goals for the current project as well as future strategies that the leadership has for business growth and expansion. HyeTech engineers possess a unique in-depth knowledge of networking, cyber security, systems and cloud technologies as well as an intimate understanding of the inner workings of large enterprise networks, and specifically, state, local government, and education organizations. This broad understanding of both the technical and business needs, allows HyeTech to provide a team of highly skilled technology professionals best suited to meet and exceed our customer’s needs in all phases of a project.

Over the years, HyeTech has transformed from a network and security firm into a firm providing end-to-end solutions in all disciplines of technology. Security is foundational in all solutions provided by HyeTech, from network, to systems, wireless, unified communications, data center, and general operations. Security is always at the forefront of all architectures from our firm. Our team believes in developing unique security solutions for each of our clients. While there are similarities between networks and clients, no two environments are identical.

There are several reasons that make HyeTech the best selection for this RFP. First is HyeTech’s philosophy. We are a client facing organization. This is critical to appreciate a client’s needs, resolve problems, plan, and continue relationships. At the same time, industry best practices and cost are always at the forefront of any project. The team of engineers that will work with the State will have the goal of providing the best possible architectures and solutions that are scalable and supportable.

Second, the HyeTech team has a variety of engineering resources that are part of our local team. This diversity enables the team to tackle the vast array of technologies that are found in today’s network, security, datacenter, public cloud and computing environments. These skills include senior level engineers and architects in networking and security, data center and cloud, unified communications (voice/video) and wireless technologies and virtualization and storage.

In addition, the HyeTech team has senior architects in systems and enterprise applications (i.e., Active Directory, DHCP, DNS). HyeTech can provide a team of experienced engineers that work together on a regular basis to deliver critical projects for our clients.

Next, the HyeTech team brings a strong architecture and design practice to help our clients. It is something our team has been involved in delivering since our inception. There have been many projects where our team was brought in to provide just the secure architecture, or the reference architecture. It is a critical core competency for our team, and we thrive in delivering secure architectures and designs that fit our client’s needs. Our team incorporates secure design into each of the technologies we deliver.

Lastly, HyeTech is an independent consulting firm committed to providing solutions based on the best technologies and at the best price points without preference to any one particular manufacturer. This approach has uniquely positioned us as a consulting focused integrator that specializes in the secure deployment of a variety of manufacturer platforms. We provide our clients with essential expertise in integration and consulting services for the most critical areas of the communications environment. The above points detail the reasons why HyeTech is the ideal firm for the Network and Telephony Equipment and Services contract. Additionally, there are numerous reasons why HyeTech stands out amongst our competition. Some of the highlights are as follows:

2.3: Current Customer Sizes Our customers range from small single office businesses to large public entities with tens of thousands of employees which require enterprise scale solutions. Our core customers consist of various Arizona state, local government, and educational entiites. Notably, Mesa Public Schools (5,800+ APs, 94 locations, and 80,000+ users), University of Arizona (8000+ APs, 25 locations, 65,000+ users), and Arizona State University (11,000+ APs, 10 locations, and 100,000+ users) are just three examples. We have designed and implemented network and telephony systems for the largest city in Arizona and one of the largest Universities in the country. That said, we have also worked with many small, medium and large school districts, Arizona municipalities as well as other similarly sized organizations. Please refer to the table in response to section 2.2 for a representative list of current HyeTech customers, along with the duration of service for each organization.

2.4: HyeTech Future Vision Arizona is entering its next big era – the 2020s. Economists are anticipating state growth of over 1,000,000 people over the next decade. Companies, higher education, and investors are bringing extensive and diverse opportunities along with jobs. We are attracting talent internationally, thinking locally and methodically wrangling sustainable growth.

Arizona is a state full of pride and innovation. Arizonans are as unique as the Saguaro Cactus Blossom. We grow and blossom in on our time and in our way; the markings of a true pioneer. Arizona is flourishing, specifically in technology.

Technology is one of the rapidly growing industries, not only within the state government and education, but among private sector entities. The State’s leadership understands our growing needs and is blazing the technology trail.

Whether it’s streamlining requirements, allowing companies to deploy small cell towers to invite 5G across the state, or earmarking funds for increasing broadband aimed at bringing the Phoenix/Tucson broadband capabilities to rural areas; our leadership is preparing for next-generation technology. This modern mindset opens doors, especially within education and telehealth, improving lives in rural and metropolitan populations across our state. This transformational vision requires a transformational team.

We envision nothing short of a technology evolution for the State of Arizona’s infrastructure. Our vision is to embrace change by architecting and building a pliable infrastructure that supports the ever-growing and demanding needs while seamlessly adapting to new technologies. The State of Arizona encompasses multiple sizable state departments and agencies, all with overlapping and competing needs. Additionally, many other municipalities and educational institutaions take their lead from the State. To achieve such versatility, the HyeTech team’s approach is to building technology solutions that help our customers in the realms of automation and simplification. Utilizing software defined networking strategies (i.e., Infrastructure as Code), our team is developing methods to bring cloud scale architecture to our customer base in a simplified and automated fashion.

HyeTech is a forward looking/thinking firm. From our perspective, Arizona needs to build and support platforms that are both sustainable and pliable. The nimble infrastructure allows different state agencies to move from legacy platforms into next generation architecture with low friction. Enabling Smart Cities/Regions/State will require a look outside of the traditionaling networking stack. Our team is has worked to develop solutions around these existing, new and evolving technologies that allow for such connectivity. Outside of the still needed traditional networks, Smart City/Region/State technologies will require new solutions around private LTE, milimiter Wave, LoRa WAN, just to name a few. These technologies can be used to gain economic advantages in facilities operation and automation, energy efficiency, payment systems, and many other areas where data can provide these advantages. They can be leveraged to enhance the user experience with registration in various separate statewide platforms, navigation, instant alerts for updates, and public safety. Additionally, these technologies allow for facilities to have real time data collection and analytics which can promote integration and collaboration with other city/county agencies and professional innovators.

From a practical and methodical approach, HyeTech utilizes architectures that are relevant and consumable no matter the manufacturer or the underlying nut-bolt level technology utilized. The architecture will be a solution driven model with the following goals:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodology will be fully incorporated

• Security will be foundational and woven into the DNA of the architecture

• Any service can be delivered TO anywhere at anytime

• Any service can be provided FROM anywhere at anytime

• Simplified future improvements due to a modular and flexible architecture

• Security will be centralized for efficiency and manageability

• Network traffic management will be centralized with granular capabilities

The application of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery processes across the network eco system will provide benefits in the methodology, agility, faster delivery, improved testability, and simpler fault isolation. Our team works with our customers to bridge these gaps and helps align with our customers’ approaches, whether that is cloud-first, hybrid cloud, or continuing on-premises. The flexibility enable a variety of approaches.

One key component that HyeTech strives towards in the future, and as mentioned briefly above, is Automation. It will help develop a culture that leverages tools and methodologies that lead to higher levels of stability and efficiency.

Integration of DevOps approaches into networking approaches will benefit many organizations. This type infrastructure will allow for more precise, systematic, and simplified transition between new technologies as they come available, i.e.:

• NetDevOps as part of an IaC transformation model will provide the key methodology going forward

• A fabric based architecture that provides the underlying software defined network

• Security made foundational into all aspects of the network architecture, ensuring a clear path to Zero Trust

• Enterprise wide security to ensure Zero Trust methodologies are used at all network locations

• Security policies that enable networking and networking that enable security

• Global traffic management

HyeTech believes in this technology evolution but with a mindful methodology as a practical, sustainable solution. It can be a dramatic and a dynamic change, however, with the right technology partners (such as HyeTech), it can be achieved safely and systematically. We believe in modernizing not only legacy technologies, but also legacy practices into an enterprise environment that is robust, yet flexible to support where the future takes us. Our HyeTech team members call Arizona their home. We will always recognize and strive for ways to make our home better.
