Project: 580‐18‐111 Site Prep for Cath Lab #2 and EP Lab Clarifications dated 8/5/2021

On the Phase 1 (Site Prep EP Lab) drawings, sheet MH102 has a unit labeled CU‐3C‐443 that is not present on the schedules provided on sheet M‐601. Please provide information regarding this unit.

CU‐3C‐443 is scheduled in the right half of the Ductless Split Schedule.

Phase 1 (Site Prep EP Lab) Drawing M‐501, Detail #3 shows the roof curbs and states to refer to architectural drawings for type. However, there does not appear to be any information regarding the existing roof type. Please provide description of the existing roof type, along with information about any current warranty, manufacturer, etc.

Roofing system is Tremco Incorporated ‐ Base & Cap Ply Cold BUR, completed in 2009 with 20 year warranty.

Drawing S‐101, within the large detail on the top left, it states, “EP Lab – Partial Existing 4th Floor Framing Plan Above Interstitial Ceiling. Is there a 4th Floor above this area? We are under the impression that it’s the roof area above the interstitial space.

The roof structure is above the EP Lab. Roof area is located above the 3rd floor interstitial area.

Does Phase 1 (Site Prep EP Lab), Drawing QH‐105, shows on the Philips drawings a [ZG] Zero Gravity, but it lists this under “Items Not Listed on Philips Quote”. However, this item is not included on the Stryker drawings either. Please clarify this item, who is providing, installing, testing, etc.

The Philips equipment will be provided and installed by Philips under a separate contract by others. The GC shall coordinate with Philips on all other associated work for a complete installation.

Phase 1 page A601, Door 421 is indicated in the Schedule as a pair of 3‐6 doors. On A101, it is drawn as a single door 3‐0 door. This should be corrected.

Door 421 should be a 3'‐0" wide door. Door 443 should be the (2) 3'‐6" wide pair of doors.

The Phase 1 (Site Prep EP Lab) specifications have a section labeled “(06 10 00) Rough Carpentry” on the table of contents. Specification section (06 10 00) is not in the specification package. Does the table of contents for Phase 1 need to be updated or is section (06 10 00) missing?

06 10 00 is not required and is not part of the specifications.

Who is responsible for providing the RF panels in the vertical walls?

The GC will be responsible for the lead shielding. The lead shielding is only required to be 7'‐0" AFF with these types of rooms. The walls shall be flush from floor to ceiling.

Project: 580‐18‐111 Site Prep for Cath Lab #2 and EP Lab Clarifications dated 8/5/2021

On the Phase 2 (Site Prep Cath Lab) drawings, sheet A‐101 sheet note F states “This project will include testing of the existing RF‐shielding enclosure and replacement of any panels as required to provide a continuous and effective RE‐shield.” Given that this is an undefined scope that does not have a defined quantity until after a survey has been completed, will the VA give a quantity for the contractor to price, or should the contractor only include the testing and anything repair would be followed by a change order? If neither options are acceptable, how will the VA evaluate what exact scope is included by each Contractor?

Lead shielding is required in lieu of RF‐shielding. In addition to what's called out on the drawings, the GC shall include the cost for material and labor to install an additional 100 SF of lead shielding for unforeseen conditions.

On the Phase 2 (Site Prep Cath Lab) drawings, sheet 1‐101 detail 5 the gypsum board and metal stud have a note saying “by others” attached to an arrow pointed at them. Does this mean it will be installed by others, is it next to another piece like it, or something else? Please clarify the meaning of “by others”.

The GC is responsible for the studs and gypsum board related to this detail and any new work.

On the Phase 2 (Site Prep Cath Lab) drawings, sheet I‐201 detail 5 shows a unit labeled M4266. That unit does not appear in the schedule or in the other details. Please provide more information about this unit.

Project: 580‐18‐111 Site Prep for Cath Lab #2 and EP Lab Clarifications dated 8/5/2021

Because this work is located on the third floor, has the VA evaluated a path of ingress and egress for the concrete and steel scopes? For example, is it permitted to remove louvers or windows within either the Mechanical Bay (2C‐418A) or Bed Cub (3C‐450)? The Contractor will require reasonable access to the jobsite, but, while access plans have been provided, it doesn’t appear to account for concrete pumps, structural steel, etc., to be brought within the hospital in an efficient manner. This may require impacting adjacent areas, which the VA will need to approve prior to bid day.

Contractor to construct per plans as indicated in drawings. Proposed means and methods for specific activities is the responsibility of the contractor.
