Question: How will NRCS pay for terraces?

Answer: NRCS’ response was terraces will be paid by progress surveys taken by the contractor that are submitted & approved by NRCS. I could be 10-20 terraces however many get approved.

Question: Can the contractor stop building terraces if the water gets too high?

Answer: NRCS will decide when the contractor brings it up at the progress meetings.

Question: Is there a site available to look at historical water data?

Answer: NRCS said we can provide that if a contractor submits an RFI requesting it. NRCS then provided the CRMS Station 0650 which is near the site.

Question: What is the current water depth?

Answer: NRCS response was +2.7’

Question: What do we do when we clear the trees & can we leave the trees at the 3.5 tolerance?

Answer: Refer to the spec where it says all debris must be covered.

Question: Was there a stake on the structure centerline & the intake complex?

Answer: Yes, there is a doubled pink flag that intersects both the structure centerline & the intake complex.

Question: Will NRCS allow contractor to dig deeper than -10 for terrace construction since suitable material may not be found in the top soil layers?

Answer: The COE permit would need to be modified, but since there are two borrow areas per terrace, there should be enough suitable material to construct the terraces.
