Subject: Supplement #4, Table 23 Removal & Replace Correction
USDA ARS KBUSLIRL
Kerrville, Texas
Arias, Inc. (Arias) previously prepared a geotechnical engineering study for the above referenced project. The results of our study were originally presented in the Arias Geotechnical Engineering Study Report, 2018-933, dated May 29, 2019, and revised on July 3, 2019. Supplemental Letter #1 dated January 10, 2020, provided additional foundation recommendations, Supplemental Letter #2 dated April 21, 2020, provided retaining wall design parameters, and Supplemental Letter #3 dated October 6, 2020, provided recommendations for drilled piers at the proposed Cattle Working Barn.
This Supplemental Letter #4 will serve to correct a typographical error in Table 23 of the original Report. Table 23 is entitled “Site Work (Non-Structural/General Fill) Requirements”.
So, this table only refers to non-structural fills in site work areas. The “Stripping Depth” item in Table 23 should read “Strip away existing asphalt, concrete, soil, deleterious and soft/wet materials. Provide at least 4 inches deep of clearing and grubbing to removal all roots.”
Unless stated otherwise, all other previous recommendations provided in our Geotechnical Engineering Study Report and previous recommendations in Supplements 1, 2 and 3, that are not specifically addressed in this Letter should be followed. Please feel free to call with questions or comments.
Please contact us with any questions or if additional information is needed.
Sincerely, Arias, Inc.
