Questions from Industry 12805B24R0035 As of 1 August 2024
1. Can you please confirm that a “Voice” System is required for this project? Can you also confirm if speaker strobes are required as well or a horn strobe will suffice?
Govt Response: Strobes and speakers will not be required.
2. Please provide the Geotech Report?
Govt Response: This was provided in Amendment 3.
3. Please provide Civil Drawings?
Govt Response: Civil drawings are in Attachment 2 REV 1.
4. Who will be purchasing trenches/ installing. Plumber?
Govt Response: Contractor awarded project will be responsible for all materials, construction, and labor required to turn over a finished product.
5. Has any existing soils been determined to be hazardous?
Govt Response: No
6. Specs call for mockups on everything, is that the case?
Govt Response: Mockups are not required but submittals shall be approved prior to purchase of materials.
7. Is casing a requirement?
Govt Response: Drawing page S-501 NOTES: 1. TEMPORARY CASINGS MAY BE REQ'D FOR CONSTRUCTION. This will be dependent on the contractor.
8. There is no joint pattern include. S-501/#8 shows only Construction Joint no Contraction Joints. Will contraction joints not be required?
Govt Response: For the main barn building, the foundation for the building uses a reinforced structural mat foundation system so there are no contraction joints. We call out just one construction joint where the reinforcing is continuous through that joint. (Response by Patrick Finley, P.S, S.E.)
9. Is curb in Stanchion Barn monolithic pour or dowel on?
Govt Response: Drawing page S-502 has curbs shown as dowel on.
10. Should Past Performance requirements should be BARNS?
Govt Response: There are no past performance requirements you need to submit under Factor 2. If you are referencing Factor 1, Subfactor 6, your documented experience shall be recent and relevant. Any pre-engineered steel building work would be considered relevant.

11. Are there any phasing requirements?
Govt Response: No.
12. Can the period of performance be extended after award once the material / equipment lead times are confirmed due to current market conditions for the equipment for this project?
Govt Response: Yes. An NTP will not be issued until all submittals have been approved. At that point, long-lead items may be addressed.
13. Are soil boring reports available? If not, it will be assumed that excavation will be clear of rocks and obstructions.
Govt Response: Yes, In the Geotech report.
14. Can you please confirm that demolition of the existing structure(s) described in Specification Section "02 41 00 - Demolition" is to be included with CLIN 0001?
Govt Response: Demo is not to be included in this bid.
15. Per the site walk discussions, can you please confirm what portions of the fire alarm scope of work is to be removed from the solicitation?
Govt Response: Yes. It has been removed from Exhibit B under CLIN 0004.
16. Per the site walk discussions, can you please confirm what portions of the surveillance system scope of work is to be removed from the solicitation?
Govt Response: Yes. It has been removed from Exhibit B under CLIN 0004.
17. Per the site walk discussions, can you please confirm what portions of the voice system scope of work is to be removed from the solicitation?
Govt Response: Yes. It has been removed from Exhibit B under CLIN 0004.
18. Per the site walk discussions, can you please provide updated drawings with markups?
Govt Response: Drawing has been uploaded to Sam.gov “Attachment 2 REV 1 Project Drawings”
19. Per the site walk discussions, can you please provide the missing Civil drawings?
Govt Response: Drawing has been uploaded to Sam.gov “Attachment 2 REV 1 Project Drawings”
20. Where can contractors designate a lay down area along with a site office for work performed?
Govt Response: The site will have a laydown area for materials and equipment. Power and water are available for a modular site office to be placed and connected by prime awarded contract.
21. Does the soil contain any fertilizer that may present health issues to excavation workers?
Govt Response: No.
22. Do all existing dirt / material need to be taken off site or is there an area onsite to dump it?
Govt Response: Taken off site.
23. Amendment 3 of the solicitation stated that the geotechnical report was being provided, but the attachment with the report is shown as deleted on SAM. Will the report be provided?
Govt Response: Attachments 6-9 are the geotech report and supplements. All have been uploaded and available since Amendment 3.
24. Note 7 on sheet S-101 states that 30” diameter, 40 foot deep drilled piers are required, then states “NOTE
THAT DRILLED PIER DESIGNS ARE CURRENTLY FOR ESTIMATING PURPOSES ONLY AND
REQUIRE A GEOTECHNICAL REPORT TO FINALIZE DESIGN. DO NOT CONSTRUCT DRILLED PIERS
AS DESIGNED.” A similar statement is on detail 5 sheet S-501. Please clarify the depth and diameter of drilled piers required for bidding purposes.
Govt Response: Attachment 10 has updated specs for the piers. Is 25’ and 18” diameter.
25. Sheet A-011 shows large paving area, at the site visit it was noted that the amount of pavement has been reduced – please clarify the size of the area that required asphalt pavement.
Govt Response: The paving area has been reduced in the updated drawing “Attachment 2 REV 1 Project Drawings”
26. Please clarify that the fire alarm system, cameras and security systems are not required as discussed at the site visit.
Govt Response: They are not required.
27. Please confirm that the water, gas and electricity for tie into the new facilities are available at the building adjacent to the existing barn.
Govt Response: Yes
28. Please confirm as noted at the site visit that the existing barn and its foundation will be demolished by others and that the existing trench drain line will remain so the new trench drains can be connected to the existing pipe.
Govt Response: Existing barn and utilities in the foundation will be demolished. New drain pipes to the lagoons will be part of the new construction as shown in the design drawings.
29. Exhibit B contains items such as CLIN 4 division 28 intrusion detection, video surveillance and fire detection which was stated at the pre-bid site visit as not being required. Please clarify if these are to be included in this
CLIN.
Govt Response: These are removed from Exhibit B.
