About this file

This is a Minimum Insurance Requirements document for an open-end contract between Broward County Transportation Department and vendors for the purchase and delivery of Transit Shelters and Amenities in Florida. The contract is designed to serve Broward County Transportation Department and various other Broward County agencies requiring these services and products according to specified requirements. The solicitation is subject to Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) requirements and County Surtax Funding, with vendors required to submit completed Buy America Certification Forms with their bids or proposals, or their submissions will be rejected as nonresponsive. Vendors may request approval of equal products for specifications listed in the solicitation by submitting a Request for Approved Equals form to the Purchasing Agent by the deadline specified in the Special Instructions to Vendors. The County provides a designated period for vendors to submit questions and seek clarification through BPRO, with all inquiries due by the specified Questions due date and responses provided in BPRO's Messages section.

The insurance requirements mandate that vendors maintain General Liability coverage with minimum limits of $500,000 per occurrence and $500,000 aggregate, including broad form Commercial General Liability with specified hazard coverage; Auto Liability with $500,000 combined bodily injury and property damage limits (waivable if no driving is performed); Workers' Compensation at statutory limits with Employers Liability of $100,000 per accident; and Pollution/Environmental Liability with a maximum deductible of $10,000. Broward County must be named as an additional insured, with the vendor's insurance providing primary coverage and a waiver of subrogation in the County's favor. The vendor must provide 30 days' written notice of cancellation and 10 days' notice for non-payment, and for Claims-Made policies, insurance must be maintained and evidence provided for at least three years after contract completion. No proof of insurance is required if delivery will be by common carrier.
