Coverage

State and local contract opportunities are collected from statewide procurement sources across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, from multi-buyer procurement platforms that state, local, education, and special-district buyers post to, and from individual local governments that have their own dedicated collection source. Records are attributed to the posting state, and to a local jurisdiction where the source identifies one.

Every state and the District of Columbia is covered, but collection depth and how current the records are vary by state. In some states, most current activity reaches GovTribe through the multi-buyer platforms rather than through the state's own portal. A statewide source often carries more than state agency purchasing. In many states it also carries solicitations posted by counties, cities and towns, school divisions, and other local public entities in that state, so those local buyers are covered even when they are not named below. Virginia is a clear example: the County of Fairfax, Fairfax County Schools, the City of Fairfax, and Arlington County Government are all covered even though none of them has a dedicated collection source of its own. Local buyers account for roughly a quarter to a third of everything GovTribe has collected from Virginia's statewide source, and for about half of the records posted there since 2024. In Georgia, most records from the statewide source come from counties, cities, and school districts.

How much local purchasing a statewide source carries varies by state. Some statewide sources are dominated by local buyers; others carry state agency solicitations almost exclusively. A state listed below means GovTribe collects from that state's procurement sources, not that every local government in that state is covered.

A few listed buyers are collected at reduced volume or hold historical records only. San Antonio, Texas is sampled periodically rather than collected on a full schedule, and the Contra Costa Water District source has not produced new solicitations since April 2026.
