About this opportunity
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is requesting bids for grease interceptor pumping, cleaning, and disposal services under IFB No. OP137196(3), with bids due July 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and a pre-bid conference on July 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. No SBE/DVBE subcontracting goal is established, though bidders are encouraged to maximize SBE/DVBE participation where opportunities exist.
The scope encompasses monthly pumping and cleaning services for two existing grease interceptor tanks at Metro's Union Station Gateway Headquarters Building: a 2,000-gallon tank at the Cafeteria (3rd floor) and a 50-gallon tank at the Child Care Center (P1 level), with service scheduled for approximately 4:00 a.m. Saturday mornings. As-needed interior tank cleanup services may be performed up to twice during the contract term. A future 4,000-gallon tank at USG-West Portal may be added through written contract modification. The contractor must maintain 24-hour emergency response capability at no additional cost and be available for service between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and weekends. The contractor must hold a current Inedible Kitchen Grease Transporter Registration license from the California Department of Food and Agriculture and provide documentation of the rendering site's CDFA Rendering Facility License. Minimum qualifications require three years of experience performing such services for at least three public or private entity clients with combined annual value of at least $10,000.
The contract term is five years with no renewal options on a firm fixed unit rate basis. All unit rates must remain firm for the entire contract duration. Pricing must be all-inclusive, covering materials, labor, equipment, taxes, insurance, travel time, overhead, and applicable fees and profit, with disposal fees and testing charges invoiced back to Metro without markup. Award will be made to the lowest-priced responsive and responsible bidder. Questions are due July 16, 2026, with clarifications provided by July 21, 2026. Pre-qualification is required for bids exceeding $500,000. All contractors and subcontractors must register with the California Department of Industrial Relations. A bid bond or certified check equal to 10% of total bid price is required, held firm for 90 days from bid opening.
