Construction runs January 2027 through July 2028 with phased sequencing: CEP and cafeteria January 2027, swing-school preparation and demolition June–July 2027, and main construction and renovations July 2027–June 2028. The total construction budget is $47 million for new construction and site work, $3.6 million for existing building renovation, and $1 million for swing-school preparation and relocation.
Respondents must be pre-qualified by Marion County Public Schools and hold current Florida licensure. Submissions are limited to 20 pages and must include a letter of application, proof of General Liability and Auto Insurance ($1,000,000 minimum each) plus statutory Worker's Compensation, proof of licensure, letter of bondability, minority/women/veteran-owned or disadvantaged business documentation if applicable, joint-venture documentation where applicable, and professional reference letters for at least three school projects.
Evaluators scored firms across related project experience, project-team qualifications, office location, and minority/women/veteran or disadvantaged business certifications. Shortlist interviews were held June 15, 2026. The top four firms advancing were Allstate Construction, Inc., Ausley Construction Co. LLC, Charles Perry Partners Inc., and The A.D. Morgan Corporation. Contract negotiations commence after board approval, with the selected firm required to execute the district's Standard Construction Management Agreement within three weeks of selection notification.
