About this opportunity
The U.S. Embassy Pretoria is seeking contractors for comprehensive interior and exterior painting and repair services at 225 Oom Joachim's Place, Erasmusrand, a residential property supporting embassy operations. The Department of State requires companies with demonstrated proficiency and financial capacity to perform residential maintenance work including exterior surface preparation and painting, roof repairs, installation of drying lines, paving work, concrete foundation repairs, and gate reinforcement, as well as interior painting of walls, ceilings, and various facility components with specific low-VOC, lead-free paint requirements. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and comply with National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Section 889 telecommunications restrictions, completing required certifications regarding prohibited equipment from manufacturers like Huawei and ZTE. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for July 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with interested parties required to submit expressions of interest by July 7, 2025 to pretoria_quotations@state.gov and kriekjx@state.gov with reference number PR15391006. The embassy will provide a complete scope of work before the site meeting and issue final specifications to attendees for quote submission.
This opportunity operates under no set-aside designation and is open to all qualified contractors capable of meeting the technical and compliance requirements. The contract structure specifies fixed-price terms with no deposit payments authorized, and the embassy will not accommodate price fluctuations or exchange rate variations after contract award, requiring contractors to incorporate potential cost increases into their initial pricing. Payment will be processed via electronic funds transfer within 30 calendar days following service delivery and invoice receipt. The exterior work is projected for completion within two weeks, while interior painting and repairs are expected to require three weeks, with both phases demanding strict adherence to safety protocols and a 12-month workmanship guarantee. No incumbent contractor information or specific budget ranges were disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, though the comprehensive scope suggests a substantial maintenance contract for this diplomatic residential facility.
