About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for exterior painting and repairs at 225 Oom Jochem, a U.S. Embassy residential property in Pretoria, South Africa. The project requires comprehensive maintenance including preparing and repainting exterior surfaces such as eaves, boarding, ceilings, concrete, steelwork, and all building exteriors, with specific color requirements of Karoo land and catlewood canyon. Additional tasks include repairing tiled roofs, installing an aluminum clothing drying line, leveling and reinstalling existing paving, repairing concrete foundations, and strengthening the vehicle gate by installing additional angle iron vertical beams.

The SOW specifies a two-week project duration with stringent safety requirements, including mandatory personal protective equipment, safety inspections, emergency response protocols, and a 12-month workmanship guarantee. Contractors must submit detailed proposals with separated labor and material costs, provide a company profile, confirm measurements before quoting, and undergo a vetting process for site access. The project is managed by the U.S. Embassy Pretoria's Facility Management, with Etienne Smit as the Project Manager, and all communications must route through the embassy's procurement agent.
