About this opportunity

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Logistics (MEDLOG) Directorate Medical Materiel Enterprise Standardization Office (MMESO) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking industry input for establishing a Qualified Supplier List (QSL) for Cricothyrotomy Kits. This market research effort is designed to gather technical information and supporting documentation from potential vendors regarding specialized medical emergency airway intervention kits. The RFI specifically targets two kit variations: a Simplified Bougie Assisted Open Surgical Technique Kit and a Field/Tactical version, both of which must meet precise component specifications. The document emphasizes that this is a pure information-gathering exercise and not a formal solicitation for quotes or proposals. The research is being conducted by the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Medical supply chain.

Contractors interested in participating must submit comprehensive responses to the RFI Vendor Response Worksheet, providing detailed information about each kit component including manufacturer name, part number, country of origin, and component descriptions. The kits must include specific items such as a cuffed and flanged airway (6mm or 7mm), a #10 safety scalpel, a 10cc transparent syringe, a tracheal hook, a bougie, and an airway securing device, with the tactical version additionally requiring a nylon bag/pouch. All products must be latex-free, and vendors are encouraged to provide their most current product catalogs. The response deadline is February 19, 2025, with submissions required via email to specified contacts: Andrea Honesto (Lead MMESO Clinical Analyst), David Sheaffer (MMESO Project Manager), and Tara Perrien (DLA Troop Support Medical Contracting Officer). The government explicitly states that all submitted information will be considered unrestricted and may be incorporated into future acquisition documents, and vendors will not be compensated for their response preparation.
