About this opportunity
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy, is seeking quotes for a Balanced Optical-Microwave Phase Detector (BOMPD) compatible with specific optical and RF requirements. The BOMPD must work with a 1550nm, 325MHz optical link with 150fs FWHM and 10mW output, accept 2.6GHz RF input, and meet stringent performance specifications including timing sensitivity greater than 0.2 mV/fs, timing noise floor less than 5 fs RMS, and timing resolution less than 0.1 fs RMS. The procurement is for product only with no on-site services permitted, and the requirement has been posted on both this solicitation and SAM.gov. Source selection will be based on the Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable method combined with best lead time evaluation. Quotes are due by August 16, 2025, and must be submitted to the specified procurement contact at SLAC.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designation and is open to all qualified vendors. The solicitation does not identify any current incumbents or existing contractors for this specialized equipment. While no specific award value is mentioned, the Buy American Act certification applies to awards over $10,000, indicating the procurement likely exceeds this threshold. The requirement is for a quantity of one BOMPD unit, with performance taking place in West Menlo Park, California at the SLAC facility. The resulting purchase order will be issued on a fixed-price basis with NET-30 payment terms, FOB Destination Prepaid shipping for domestic suppliers, and CIP SLAC Duty Unpaid terms for foreign suppliers.
